Little Red Dot
As part of a team, we designed Little Red Dot, a strategic city-building card game inspired by Singapore’s urban planning.
Project Overview
The goal was to create a game with deep, enjoyable gameplay, meaningful decision-making, and strong replayability. Balancing skill and chance, the game remains unpredictable until the very end.

After research and discussion, we decided on a tile-based game where players take on the role of aspiring architects. The objective is to build the most efficient and visually appealing city layout on a 6×6 card grid. This is achieved through:
-
Strategic acquisition and placement of infrastructure cards
-
Efficient resource management to balance short-term income and long-term net worth
-
Competition for space and resources against other players
-
Adapting to evolving challenges, reflecting Singapore’s real-world urban constraints
My Role
I was one of the two responsible for the art and graphic design of the game, including creating the artwork for the cards, formatting of the rulebook and designing the cover for the game's box. In order to keep a consistent style, we created mood boards and style guides for us to go back to that we consistently updated. Below is our final style guide.

Challenges & Solutions
One of the biggest challenges we faced on the art side was effectively presenting key game information on each card. Each card not only displayed its name and representative illustration but also had:
Purchase Price
Income per round
Establishment Points
Special Effects
Due to the amount of information, we iterated through three design versions before finalizing a layout that optimized readability. To keep the design clean and functional, we:
Used icons to replace repetitive texts
Condensed Wording

Version 1

Version 2
Ensure alignment on the left

Version 3 (Chosen)
Personal Reflection
This project was also a personal learning experience for me, as it was my first time using Procreate. Initially, this made me slower in creating art assets, but with guidance from my art lead and online tutorials, I was able to pick up the application quickly and complete all required assets on time. This experience strengthened my adaptability and ability to learn new tools under tight deadlines.
In addition, Procreate has become one of my most used applications when it comes to school projects and even personal ones! Hopefully I will continue to work on my skills, as well as learn about other softwares that could help in my journey.
